Pakistan’s fast bowler Haris Rauf had a heated exchange with a fan in Florida recently. The incident occurred while Rauf was walking with his wife, and a fan made an offensive comment. This led to a confrontation captured on a viral video.
In the video, Rauf can be heard shouting, “India se hoga (He must be from India),” to which the fan responded, “Pakistan se hum (I am from Pakistan).” Despite his wife’s attempts to calm him down, Rauf broke free and ran towards the fan, resulting in both parties exchanging harsh words.
Rauf later addressed the situation on social media, explaining that the fan had insulted his family. “As public figures, we are open to feedback from the public. They are entitled to support or criticize us. Nevertheless, when it comes to my parents and my family, I will not hesitate to respond accordingly. It is important to show respect towards people and their families, irrespective of their professions,” Rauf wrote on X.
Rauf and his teammates, who have been in the USA following their early exit from the T20 World Cup, are set to return home on Tuesday. The incident has triggered a barrage of criticism from fans on social media.
