Bangladesh secured victory in the final match of the three-game ODI series against Sri Lanka, winning by four wickets and claiming the series.
The Tigers chased down the target of 236 runs with around 10 overs (58 balls) to spare at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Monday.
Bangladesh had a strong start, reaching 50 runs without losing any wickets, thanks to Tanzid Hasan Tamim’s aggressive batting.
Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Tanzid continued to score fluently. He contributed 84 runs from 81 balls, hitting four sixes and nine fours, before being caught out.
After Tanzid’s departure, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mehidy Hasan Miraz built a steady partnership, but the momentum shifted when Rishad Hossain joined the crease. Rishad’s quick 48 runs from just 18 balls, including four sixes and five fours, helped Bangladesh secure a dominant victory.
Sri Lanka’s Lahiru Kumara took four wickets, while Wanindu Hasaranga claimed two.
Earlier, Bangladesh’s bowlers restricted Sri Lanka to 235 runs.
Sri Lanka struggled early in their innings, losing wickets at regular intervals. Despite a century from Liyanage, their total was not enough to secure victory.
From Bangladesh’s side, Taskin took three wickets, while Mustafizur and Mehidy Hasan took two each.
