Bangladesh has chosen 15 players for the first Test match against Sri Lanka. The match will start on March 22 in Sylhet.
Liton Das, who missed the last series due to his baby’s birth, is back in the team. Najmul Hossain Shanto is leading the team in all formats now.
This series is Shanto’s first as captain. Liton Das has played 39 Tests, scoring 2394 runs with an average of 36.27. He was also the wicketkeeper in 28 of those matches.
Nurul Hasan, who replaced Liton in the last series, is not in the squad this time.
Newbie pacers Nahid Rana and Mushfik Hasan are in the squad. Ebadot Hossain, a senior pacer, is still recovering from a knee injury.
Abdur Razzak, a former player and current selector, praised Rana’s pace and bounce. He also mentioned Mushfik Hasan as a young talent.
The first Test starts on March 22 in Sylhet, followed by another match on March 30 in Chattogram.
