The International Cricket Council (ICC) has fined Bangladeshi batsman Towhid Hridoy 15 percent of his match fee for breaking the code of conduct during the third T20 International against Sri Lanka on Saturday.
The incident took place in the fourth over of Bangladesh’s innings. After getting dismissed, Hridoy turned around on his way back to the pavilion and argued aggressively and inappropriately with the Sri Lankan players.
Hridoy admitted his mistake and accepted the penalty suggested by Andy Pycroft of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees. Therefore, there was no need for a formal hearing.
The charge was made by on-field umpires Sharfuddoula Saikat and Tanvir Ahmed, along with third umpire Gazi Sohel and fourth umpire Masudur Rahman.
