Bangladesh Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto Heads to Thailand for Medical Consultation
Bangladesh’s three-format captain Najmul Hossain Shanto has traveled to Thailand to consult with doctors about a persistent throat issue. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed that Shanto made the trip with his family for this medical appointment.
Medical Update: BCB chief physician Dr. Debashish Chowdhury clarified that Shanto’s trip is not related to any sports injury. “He doesn’t have any sports-related injury. He has gone there through his personal arrangements to see doctors,” Dr. Chowdhury stated.
Shanto’s visit comes as the Bangladesh national team prepares for upcoming fixtures, including a Test series against Pakistan. The first Test is scheduled to begin on August 21 in Rawalpindi, with the second Test set to start on August 30 in Karachi.
Team Preparations: In the meantime, several players have departed for Chattogram, while those involved in the Bangladesh Tigers program are engaged in a two-day intra-squad practice game. This practice is part of the team’s preparation for the Test series.
Additionally, some national players are expected to join the Bangladesh A team, which will travel to Pakistan on August 6 for a series of four-day games. The first of these matches will take place from August 10-13.
