On February 12, during the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) executive meeting, a report was submitted on the failure in the ICC World Cup, leading to the formation of an evaluation committee. The report submitted by the BCB management does not include any commitment for the future.
Ehsan Mani has taken leadership of the evaluation committee, and the chairman, Najmul Hasan Papon, has informed the committee about their responsibility for creating instability in the World Cup team.
The report mentions that there is an ongoing disagreement between the BCB president and Bangladesh team captain Tamim Iqbal regarding the team’s instability. This conflict has arisen between Hathurusingha and Tamim.
Bangladesh changed the batting order in every match in the ICC World Cup held in India. The team could not perform well in this regard. A section of the players in the World Cup squad is blamed for the failure. This is highlighted in the evaluation committee’s report.
The report emphasizes the importance of the changes made in the batting order according to the wishes of the captain Shakib Al Hasan. The committee has shown this aspect with great importance as one of the reasons for failure in the report.
Shakib Al Hasan has informed the evaluation committee that changes were made in the batting order as per the wish of the head coach. On the other hand, Shakib also informed the committee that the change was made at the behest of the head coach in the main coach role.
In addition, the committee has mentioned that due to personal circumstances, the Bangladesh team’s failure may have occurred. The evaluation committee has assessed the reasons for the team’s failure and their equality towards them.
